Job summary

University of Fort Hare in Bloemfontein is seeking a Junior IT Installer to support a dynamic facilities team. You will assist with network and hardware installation, cabling, and testing to ensure reliable IT infrastructure.

The role requires hands-on experience in LAN/WAN, CCTV and fibre projects, plus a valid RSA driver's license and own transport. Training will be provided, with opportunities to grow in a multidisciplinary tech environment.

Qualifications

NQF4 or equivalent educational qualification.
3 years IT environment experience.
At least 2 years in hardware, network, CCTV and fibre installation.
Valid RSA Driver's Licence with own transport.

Responsibilities

Install, terminate and test AT6, fibre cabling.
Mount and connect cameras, Wi‑Fi access points, switches, and network cabinets.
Diagnose and repair faults in cabling, devices or system configurations.
Pull, route, label and secure cables according to standards and site requirements.
Terminate cables in patch panels, cabinets and equipment rooms.
Maintain and recording of equipment and stock levels.
