Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 2–5 years' experience within the construction and/or mining industry.
- Bachelor's Degree or BEng/BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
- Exposure to construction projects, mining operations, infrastructure projects, plant construction, or industrial projects.
- Understanding of construction methodologies, project execution, and engineering principles.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Exposure to AutoCAD, MS Project, or similar engineering software will be advantageous.
- Valid passport with a willingness to travel frequently to Nigeria, and work on remote construction and mining project sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers and Senior Engineers with the planning, coordination, and execution of construction and mining projects.
- Monitor project progress and ensure activities are completed according to project schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and report on project progress, technical issues, and potential project risks.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Support procurement activities, including material requisitions, supplier coordination, equipment tracking, and expediting deliveries.
- Assist with project scheduling, progress reporting, budgeting, and cost monitoring.
- Participate in construction, installation, commissioning, and project handover activities.
- Conduct frequent site visits to project operations in Nigeria, providing on‑site engineering support and monitoring project progress.
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Identify technical challenges on site and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, site reports, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
- Attend project meetings and provide engineering support to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Maintain accurate engineering records and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing project efficiency, quality, and operational performance.
- Build technical knowledge through mentorship, site exposure, and active involvement in construction and mining projects.
