Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (BEng/BSc) in Mechanical Engineering (Essential)
- 3+ years' post-graduate experience in a construction, EPCM, engineering consulting or mining environment.
- Experience working on industrial, mining or infrastructure projects will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, engineering design and relevant South African standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor or similar engineering software will be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and development of mechanical engineering solutions for various projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Produce and review mechanical drawings and technical designs.
- Support senior engineers throughout the project lifecycle, from planning through to commissioning.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Assist with equipment selection and mechanical system design.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, company procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Assist with procurement activities, technical evaluations, and project scheduling.
- Identify engineering risks and propose practical technical solutions.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and project records.
