WhatJobs Direct is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to focus on HVAC systems. This is an on-site, full-time role in Benoni, Gauteng, SA, ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to grow in building services.

You will assist in design, analysis and implementation of HVAC solutions, perform calculations, produce drawings, support site installations and troubleshoot issues under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Recent graduate or up to 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with an interest in HVAC.
• Foundational knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
• Familiarity with CAD software, preferably AutoCAD/Revit for MEP design.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design of HVAC systems including ductwork, piping and equipment selection.
• Perform basic calculations related to airflow and heat load.
• Create and modify HVAC drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP).
• Support site visits for installation supervision, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports.
