Job summary

The Apex Group is seeking a Trainee Fund Accountant in Johannesburg to support NAV preparations and financial reporting for multiple portfolios. You will work under a Team Leader to ensure timely compliance with accounting and regulatory obligations.

You will liaise with fund managers, brokers and custodians, assist auditors, and contribute to periodic financial statements and cash management. A commerce degree and accounting coursework are required.

Qualifications

• Commerce degree and professional accounting coursework are required.
• Experience with financial accounting processes and tax considerations is preferred.
• Knowledge of auditing, internal control and ethical standards is an asset.
• Familiarity with corporate/commercial law helps in fund administration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare NAVs, management reporting and statutory filings for multiple portfolios.
• Liaise with fund managers, brokers and custodians to resolve issues.
• Ensure deadlines for client reporting and regulatory obligations are met.
• Assist external auditors and support year-end processes.
• Handle monthly, quarterly, annual NAVs, IPDs and management accounts.
