Job summary

The Apex Group is seeking a Fund Accountant in Johannesburg to prepare accurate portfolio valuations and oversee client portfolios, ensuring timely NAVs and statutory reporting. You will mentor junior staff and liaise with managers, brokers, and custodians to resolve issues promptly.

You will contribute to high-quality service delivery, support audits, and help develop the division while meeting regulatory deadlines and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Commerce degree with Financial Accounting 3.
• Taxation 1.
• Auditing 1 OR Internal Auditing 2 or Internal Control & code of ethics.
• Corporate Law 1 OR Commercial Law 2.
• Management accounting.
• SAIPA OR CIMA or AG(SA) qualified.

Responsibilities

• Working with the Team Leader to plan, coordinate and complete NAVs.
• Manage reporting and statutory reporting for corporate entities and client reporting.
• Assist with mentoring trainee fund accountants.
• Liaise with fund managers, brokers, and custodians to communicate information and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure client responsibilities are met by deadlines and regulatory requirements.
• Assist external auditors to ensure timely audits.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual NAVs; prepare management accounts and IPDs; prepare annual statutory financial statements.
