Job summary

Herotel in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a hands-on Junior Field Technician to install, repair and support fibre and wireless networks for homes and small businesses. You’ll follow safety SOPs, work with the Team Leader and Scheduler, prepare stock and set up CPE.

The role requires a Grade 12, at least 1 year fibre splicing and RF/wireless experience, basic networking knowledge, a valid driver’s license and good problem‑solving skills. Training is provided through our internal academy.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification is required.
• Minimum 1 year fibre optic splicing experience.
• Minimum 1 year RF/Wireless experience.
• Basic networking knowledge and problem solving.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs and safety procedures while documenting work.
• Install and repair standard fibre and wireless connections.
• Set up CPE and perform basic fibre/wireless tasks.
• Troubleshoot basic network issues and verify RF signal strength.
• Complete accurate job cards and report progress.
