Job summary

Impact HR is seeking a Junior Fashion/Clothing Designer in Gauteng. You will develop innovative designs, translate concepts into sketches and technical drawings, and collaborate with senior designers to ensure alignment with market trends and consumer needs.

You will oversee prototypes, work closely with production, and participate in market research to inform the brand’s strategic direction in the retail fashion space.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Formal design qualification is advantageous.
• 2–3 years related work experience in fashion/clothing design.
• Hands-on pattern making and garment construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop original and trend-setting fashion designs aligned with brand identity.
• Translate concepts into sketches and technical drawings for production.
• Oversee prototypes and collaborate with production teams to ensure design accuracy.
• Communicate design ideas through presentations and documentation.
• Maintain quality standards through inspections of prototypes and final products.
• Conduct market research to identify trends and inform design decisions.
