Job summary

Staff Connection - Hospitality Recruitment and Executive Search in Pretoria seeks a Junior Facilities Manager to take ownership of day-to-day facilities, maintenance and operations for a busy property. This live-on-site position requires solving problems and maintaining a high standard of safety and presentation.

The role covers overseeing maintenance, coordinating a team, managing contractors, preventive maintenance, inspections and reporting while ensuring OHS compliance and budget awareness.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate.
• Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Building Services or a related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in facilities or maintenance management.
• Strong technical aptitude and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Solid understanding of OHS, compliance and risk management.
• Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and facilities systems.
• Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence.
• Must be willing to live on site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall maintenance, appearance, cleanliness and functionality of the property.
• Manage and support a maintenance team, including daily repairs and emergency call-outs.
• Drive preventative maintenance and ensure issues are addressed promptly.
• Conduct regular inspections, identify potential problems and ensure corrective action is taken.
• Coordinate and manage contractors and service providers.
• Oversee cleaning, security, landscaping and other outsourced services.
• Ensure OHS, health, safety and risk requirements are maintained.
• Keep accurate records of inspections, incidents, repairs and maintenance.
• Manage maintenance-related stock, equipment, furniture and procurement.
• Monitor operational and maintenance budgets and track purchase orders.
• Work closely with the Residence Manager and wider operations team.
• Provide leadership and operational support in the Residence Manager’s absence.
• Maintain relevant facilities systems and reporting, including maintenance tracking and KPIs.

Are you technically minded, hands‑on and great at keeping things running smoothly? We’re looking for a Junior Facilities Manager who can take ownership of the day‑to‑day facilities, maintenance and operational requirements of a busy property.

This is a live‑on‑site position and would suit someone who enjoys being involved, solving problems and making sure the property is safe, well‑maintained and presented to a high standard.

What We’re Looking For
