Placements24 is seeking a Junior Electrical Design Engineer for a Mossel Bay-based engineering consultancy. This full-time internship offers hands-on experience under senior engineers, assisting with schematics, wiring diagrams, and control systems on diverse projects.

You will develop CAD drawings, perform basic electrical calculations, prepare documentation, and participate in project meetings. Ideal for a recent graduate eager to learn and grow in electrical design within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Recent graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles and design concepts.
• Familiarity with CAD software for electrical drawings is a plus.
• Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design and development of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control systems.
• Prepare technical documentation, including specifications and reports, under supervision.
• Conduct basic electrical calculations and simulations for system analysis.
• Support the procurement process by identifying and specifying electrical components.
• Assist with site inspections, installations, and commissioning activities as required.
• Learn and apply industry-standard design software and tools.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to design reviews.
• Ensure adherence to design standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive work environment.
