Placements24 is seeking a Junior Electrical Design Technician for an internship in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will assist senior engineers with electrical designs, CAD drawings, BOMs and project documentation while gaining hands-on experience in a mentoring environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing or recently completed a National Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering Technology, with basic CAD proficiency and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and concepts.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) is essential; experience with electrical-specific CAD tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and modification of electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD software.
• Support the preparation of BOMs and technical specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Help in conducting basic electrical calculations and verifying design parameters.
• Learn and apply company drafting standards and procedures.
• Assist in the organization and management of design documentation and project files.
• Participate in design review meetings and contribute to discussions.
• Shadow experienced engineers to gain practical insights into electrical system design and application.
• Perform basic site surveys or support site visits as required.
• Help in the preparation of test reports and other project-related documentation.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.
