Job summary

Bash, South Africa's leading omnichannel shopping platform, is hiring a Junior Designer to join our growing creative team in Cape Town. You will support the design team, crafting on-brand assets for digital and print, with mentorship from senior designers.

1–2 years of experience or a strong graduate portfolio is preferred, and you will develop skills in digital design, motion graphics, and AI-powered tools.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design or Visual Communication.
• 1–2 years' experience in a design role, internship or agency environment.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong design fundamentals and creative thinking.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• Basic knowledge of Figma.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects with an interest in developing motion design skills.
• Good understanding of typography, layout, colour and composition.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow creative briefs and brand guidelines.
• Willingness to learn new tools, including AI-powered creative technologies.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive).

Responsibilities

• Support the creative team in producing on-brand artwork across digital and print channels.
• Design and adapt creative assets for social media, website and app content, paid media, and campaigns.
• Assist with creating motion graphics, animations and short-form video content for digital channels.
• Edit basic video content using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software.
• Prepare artwork for digital and print production.
• Follow brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all creative assets.
• Work closely with designers and other team members to deliver creative work on time.
• Use AI-powered creative tools to assist with ideation, image creation and production tasks.
• Stay up to date with design trends and continuously develop your creative skills.
• Take feedback positively and apply it to improve your work.

We're looking for a creative and enthusiastic Junior Designer to join our growing creative team.

This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years' experience (or a strong graduate portfolio) who is passionate about design, eager to learn, and excited to build their career in a fast-paced retail environment.

Working alongside experienced designers, marketers and content creators, you'll help create engaging visual content across digital and print channels. You'll gain exposure to a wide variety of creative projects while developing your skills in digital design, motion graphics and AI-powered creative tools.

• Resize and update existing artwork for multiple platforms and formats.
• Assist with creating motion graphics, animations and short-form video content for digital channels.
• Edit basic video content using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software.
• Prepare artwork for digital and print production.
• Follow brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all creative assets.
• Work closely with designers and other team members to deliver creative work on time.
