Job summary

The African Climate Foundation (ACF) seeks a Junior Data Scientist to turn fragmented information into reliable datasets. You will locate data, clean records, maintain metadata and run quality checks while supporting analytic and visualization tasks.

You will work with Python or R, SQL and BI tools to produce descriptive statistics and dashboards, helping shape evidence-based energy and development insights in Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, or related quantitative field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience or internships.
• Proficiency in Python or R and spreadsheets; SQL familiarity preferred.
• Experience cleaning and analysing real-world datasets and creating basic visuals.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Turn fragmented information into reliable datasets with metadata and audit trails.
• Clean, standardise, merge and prepare data for publication and analysis.
• Produce descriptive statistics, tables, charts and maps under guidance.
• Support country profiles, dashboards, data stories and strategic analyses.
