Responsibilities

• General monthly accounting, including execution of monthly accounting controls.
• Manage monthly accounting timetable.
• Define and maintain core logic for accounting data.
• Manage and resolve all financial accounting technical data queries and/or issues.
• Analyze data for insightful business reporting.
• Reformat data insights for easy business consumption.
• Build data accounting models with associated business intelligence reporting.
• Engage various stakeholders to share insights.

Santam Re & International has a permanent position available for a Junior Data Scientist (Accounting), based in Cape Town (Belville) and reporting to the Financial Manager.

What will you do?

Santam Re & International Finance has 3 main operating pillars namely Financial Accounting, Technical Accounting and Credit Control. This position operates under the financial accounting pillar and will drive the data science initiatives with the support and under management of the financial manager to ensure Santam Re finance is future fit.
