Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join the site development team in Centurion, Gauteng. This role is ideal for a recent graduate eager to gain hands-on experience in land development, urban planning, and infrastructure coordination, assisting senior engineers on diverse projects.

You will contribute to grading, drainage, utility layouts, and road design while learning through a structured mentorship program and exposure to regulatory processes.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering is required.
• Eligibility for ECSA registration as a Candidate Engineer is required.
• 0–3 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on site development or land planning.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D is expected.
• Knowledge of South African land use regulations and development processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing site development plans, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify design compliance.
• Perform engineering calculations for stormwater management, earthworks, and road design.
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and other consultants on project design and implementation.
• Review construction submittals and respond to contractor inquiries.
• Contribute to preparation of technical reports and project documentation.
