Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Civil Design Technician for a civil engineering firm in Tembisa, Gauteng. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience under experienced engineers, focusing on drafting, design, and documentation for municipal services and road projects.

You will work with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, learn SANS standards, and contribute to site development and reporting. A National Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering Technology is required; relocation to Tembisa is expected.

Qualifications

• Solid drafting fundamentals with attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to learn and develop in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist with civil drawings and plans using CAD software.
• Perform basic design calculations for storm water and drainage.
• Conduct site visits to gather information under supervision.
• Help prepare technical reports, specs, and quantities.
• Ensure drawings meet company standards and project needs.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Learn SANS standards and municipal by-laws.
• Maintain accurate project files and documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and problem-solving.
• Undertake general drafting and design tasks as assigned.
