Job summary

Old Mutual South Africa is seeking a Finance Data Warehouse Support Analyst to assist the FDW team with daily operations and strategic initiatives within Group Finance Enablement. You will manage work requests, master data, Jira priorities, and ensure timely execution while building strong client relationships.

You will provide training to users, monitor the production environment, and support 24/7 first-tier standby for production processes, contributing to reliable financial reporting and data

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related fields.
• 2-3 years’ analytical, data management and/or BI experience in finance, reconciliation or operational support.
• Strong understanding of General Ledger and Trial Balance reconciliation processes.

Responsibilities

• Understand the broader business context and monitor production environment.
• Record, monitor and resolve incidents including root cause analysis.
• Gather and document data and reporting requirements; produce self-service BI reports.
• Test and QA final output and facilitate implementation to stakeholders.
• Provide 24/7 first-tier standby support for production processes.
• Create and maintain financial hierarchies and manage master data changes.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Finance Data Warehouse (FDW) team in the delivery of both daily operational and strategic initiatives. This includes managing and distributing work requests, master data maintenance, maintaining and updating priorities on the Jira dashboard, and ensuring the efficient execution of team activities.

The role requires a strong client-focused approach, taking ownership of client needs and proactively communicating any service events that may impact their daily operations. The individual will be expected to build and maintain strong client relationships, while also providing training and support to both new and existing users of the Finance Data Warehouse application.

This role resides within the Group Finance Enablement Team. The person will be responsible for interacting with the Finance Data Warehouse Stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ability to understand the broader business context

• Gather and document data and reporting requirements
• Produce self-service BI reports
• Test and quality assure final output
• Facilitate implementation a2nd delivery to stakeholders

• Available to provide 24/7 first-tier standby support for production processes
• Create and maintain financial hierarchies for multiple applications
• Manage master data changes across multiple finance applications

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related fields
• 2-3 years’ analytical, data management and/or BI experience within a finance, reconciliation, accounting, or operational support environment.
• Strong understanding of General Ledger and Trial Balance reconciliation processes
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and investigation skills
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Experience with on work management platforms
• Experience with reconciliation systems
• Knowledge of SQL, Redshift and database querying would be advantageous
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Analyse incident trends and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and control effectiveness
