Old Mutual South Africa is seeking a Finance Data Warehouse support specialist within the Group Finance Enablement Team. You will help deliver daily operational and strategic initiatives, manage work requests, and support users of the Finance Data Warehouse application while building strong client relationships.

The role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of SQL/Redshift and BI reporting. You will monitor production, resolve incidents, gather requirements, and provide 24/7 standby

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
• 2–3 years' analytical, data management or BI experience in finance, reconciliation or operational support.
• Strong understanding of General Ledger and Trial Balance reconciliation processes.

Responsabilités

• Monitor production environment and incidents; perform root cause analysis.
• Record, monitor and resolve incidents; proactively manage reoccurrences.
• Gather and document data and reporting requirements; produce self-service BI reports.
• Test and QA final outputs; ensure accuracy before delivery to stakeholders.
• Facilitate implementation and delivery to stakeholders; communicate support activities clearly.
• Provide 24/7 first-tier standby support for production processes as required.
• Create and maintain financial hierarchies across multiple applications; manage master data changes.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Finance Data Warehouse (FDW) team in the delivery of both daily operational and strategic initiatives. This includes managing and distributing work requests, master data maintenance, maintaining and updating priorities on the Jira dashboard, and ensuring the efficient execution of team activities.

The role requires a strong client-focused approach, taking ownership of client needs and proactively communicating any service events that may impact their daily operations. The individual will be expected to build and maintain strong client relationships, while also providing training and support to both new and existing users of the Finance Data Warehouse application.

This role resides within the Group Finance Enablement Team. The person will be responsible for interacting with the Finance Data Warehouse Stakeholders.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related fields
• 2-3 years' analytical, data management and/or BI experience within a finance, reconciliation, accounting, or operational support environment.
• Strong understanding of General Ledger and Trial Balance reconciliation processes
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and investigation skills
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Experience with on work management platforms
• Experience with reconciliation systems
• Knowledge of SQL, Redshift and database querying would be advantageous
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
