Job summary

Bluegrass Digital in Cape Town is seeking a junior Business Development Representative to conduct outbound prospecting, research target organisations and secure introductory meetings for the senior commercial team. You will use telephone calls, personalised email and LinkedIn outreach to engage technology and business decision-makers.

You will not be expected to close complex software or staffing opportunities independently, but you must be confident initiating conversations and following up

Qualifications

• Experience in outbound B2B sales or appointment setting.
• Comfort contacting business decision-makers by phone and email.
• Strong written communication for personalised outreach.
• Good organisation, persistence and follow-up discipline.
• Ability to work toward measurable activity and targets.
• Experience using a CRM such as Pipedrive.

Responsibilities

• Research target companies that fit the ICP, including SA, Europe and US markets.
• Identify technology, digital, product and business decision-makers.
• Build and maintain accurate prospect lists with contacts.
• Execute outbound prospecting via calls, emails, LinkedIn and other channels.
• Communicate services clearly and generate interest for an introductory discussion.
• Qualify prospects at an initial level and arrange discovery meetings.
• Follow up consistently and nurture longer-term opportunities.
• Re-engage former clients when appropriate.
• Record activity, outcomes and next actions in the CRM.
• Report on activity, conversations, meetings and pipeline.
