Lighthouse Finance in Durban's Hillcrest invites applications for a Junior Accountant who will support the accounting and tax team with day-to-day financial operations in a full-time, on-site role. You will post and reconcile journals, maintain ledgers, assist during month-, quarter-, and year-end closings, and help prepare basic reports while working with a small team.

Qualifications

• SAIPA-approved accounting degree or completing it this year.
• 0–2 years work experience; ideal for a (soon-to-be) new graduate.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration within a small firm.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills and integrity.
• Willingness to work overtime if required.

Responsabilités

• Post and reconcile journal entries and maintain ledgers.
• Assist medior and senior accountants with month-, quarter-, and year-end closings.
• Prepare basic financial reports and support tax return preparation.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable and follow up on outstanding items.
• Collaborate with senior team on ad hoc projects and improve processes.
