Job summary

Humankind Group in Bryanston, Johannesburg, is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join the team on a 3‑month Temp-to-Perm basis. This role offers hybrid working, exposure to international clients, and the opportunity to grow professionally within a firm that supports career development.

The role requires a background in accounting, proficiency with Xero/QuickBooks Online, and strong MS Office skills. Immediate start available for a candidate who is meticulous and deadline-driven.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 required.
• BCom Accounting degree, Diploma, or currently studying towards a related qualification.
• SAIPA qualification/registration advantageous but not compulsory.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Experience with Xero, QuickBooks Online, Hubdoc and Dext required.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform bank, debtor, creditor, payroll and VAT reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT201, EMP201 and EMP501 returns.
• Assist with ITR14 and IRP6 submissions.
• Prepare year-end journals and accounting compilations.
• Process documents using Hubdoc and Dext.
• Prepare management accounts and maintain financial records.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support accounting across multiple international clients.
