About the Role

Our client, a reputable accounting firm, is seeking a diligent and aspiring Graduate Junior Accountant to join their team. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of remote work and in-office collaboration at our Vereeniging, Gauteng branch. You will be involved in various accounting functions, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and assisting with financial statement preparation. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries.
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Help with tax computations and submissions under supervision.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Assist senior accountants with audit preparations.
• Perform data entry and maintain financial databases.
• Contribute to process improvements within the accounting department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Pastel, SAP) is an advantage.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
