Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Accounting or equivalent; studying towards BCom or diploma.
• Recent graduate or up to 2 years in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Excel; Pastel/Xero experience is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Willing to work a hybrid schedule from Vereeniging offices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing financial statements and general ledgers.

About the Role Our client, a dynamic and expanding accounting firm based in Vereeniging, Gauteng , is looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Junior Accountant to join their team. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and general ledger entries.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support the team with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Assist with tax computations and filings under supervision.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
• Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance accounting skills.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent qualification (e.g., studying towards BCom or relevant diploma).
• Recent graduate or up to 2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
• A good understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Xero) is an advantage.
