Job summary

NH Johannesburg Sandton is seeking a Junior Accountant to support the Finance Department with accurate financial processing and reporting. The role involves handling supplier invoices, reconciliations, journal entries, and assisting with month-end activities to ensure financial integrity and compliance.

The successful candidate will maintain accounting records, support budgets and forecasts, and contribute to internal and external audits while upholding confidentiality and control standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, payments, and creditor reconciliations.
• Capture and maintain accurate accounting records in the financial system.
• Process journal entries and assist with month-end procedures.
• Ensure all supporting documentation is properly filed and maintained.
• Assist with debtor and creditor account reconciliations.
• Follow up on outstanding debtor balances and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist with cashbook and petty cash reconciliations.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and monthly management reports.
• Support audits and maintain financial controls.
