Job summary

Valard Group of Companies is seeking Journeyperson Powerline Technicians to join our distribution team in Canada. The role focuses on constructing overhead and underground power distribution systems, following HSE policies, and mentoring apprentices while performing live-line and switching tasks.

Candidates must hold 434A or Red Seal, have utility construction experience, and possess a valid driver’s licence. This is a unionized, on-site position with competitive hourly pay and benefits via CUSW.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Powerline Technician (434A or Red Seal)
• Experience in utility construction and energized work
• Ability to read construction prints and electrical schematics
• Valid Driver's Licence with acceptable abstract

Responsibilities

• Maintain poles, towers, guys, and distribute lines.
• Install overhead/underground lines, insulators, transformers, switches.
• Perform live-line tasks and system switching.
• Mentor apprentices and ensure safety compliance.
• Document safety forms and daily reports.
