Job summary

Valterra Platinum is seeking a Millwright to provide engineering technical service in an underground operation. The role reports to an Electrical Foreman and involves planning work orders, coordinating resources, applying work standards and ensuring safety in execution.

Qualified candidates will hold Grade 10 or N2, a Trade Certificate for Fitter and Electrician, and at least 2 years of underground experience, plus a valid code 08 driving licence.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or Technical N2.
• Trade Certificate for Fitter and Electrician.
• 2 Years Experience in an underground environment.
• Valid driving license code 08.

Responsibilities

• Plan execution of work orders.
• Decide and Convey resources requirements.
• Application of work standards.
• Quality of work completed.
• Decisions within allocated schedule of work and safety standards.
• Complete the requisition order and submit.
• Scheduling of tasks for the team in the area.
• Veto on individual resources on their shift in the area.
• Changing tasks and machine settings to minimize the effect of unexpected problems.
• Stop the operation if the working conditions are unsafe.
• Identifying employees suitable for further training.
• Disciplining of employees to agreed parameters and procedures.
