Qualifications

• Interns will develop skills across client product offerings with a strong technical focus.
• Travel may be required outside Gauteng for client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Identify requirements with clients' business analysts for enhancements.
• Develop workflows, test procedures, and resolve support queries.
• Analyze and resolve system errors and perform query optimization.

The client is seeking interns with a background in software development or actuarial science to apply their skills across their product offerings. The successful candidate will interact with stakeholders, provide holistic solutions, and have a strong technical focus. The required technologies include Microsoft T-SQL, relational database design, and knowledge of finance (Accounting and Investments). A B.SC Actuarial Science, IT related B.Com, or B.Sc. (IT) degree is required, along with SQL knowledge. Training will be provided in using and developing basic database administration. The role involves identifying drawbacks and making improvements using the tracking system, interacting with clients' business analysts to establish requirements for new enhancements, analyzing requirements to build new business functions or enhance existing ones using T-SQL, and ensuring quality work is delivered in accordance with client specifications. This includes developing workflows, testing procedures, resolving support queries, analyzing and resolving system errors, query optimization, writing reports, creating report templates, data conversion, and cleansing. Travel outside Gauteng may be required, and most clients are based in Gauteng, with some clients in Cape Town, Durban, and Sub Saharan Africa. Applicants must provide a matric certificate, transcripts, and a degree certificate. The position is a one-year contract starting January 2025, with the possibility of becoming permanent. Candidates must be able to communicate well and be client-facing.
