Job summary

Positron SE's banking client seeks an experienced Java Developer to join their team for a 12 month contract. You will be responsible for development, unit testing, deployments and end-to-end deliverables with strong focus on Spring, JPA/Hibernate and microservices in a Scrum environment.

Strong hands-on Java software engineering background and experience with SOA/microservices, REST/JSON, SOAP/XML, MQ and NoSQL databases is required. Proficiency with Git, Maven and common IDEs is expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java software engineering background.
• Solid experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, Micronaut.
• Experience across SOA and microservices architectures.
• Knowledge of REST, JSON, SOAP/XML and messaging (MQ).
• Experience with multi-tier architectures and deployment automation.
• Proficiency in Git, Maven and IDEs (Eclipse/IntelliJ).
• Experience with SQL/DB2 and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB).

Responsibilities

Our banking client seeks an experienced and talented Java Developer to join their team for a 12 month contract.

You will be responsible for:

• Support & Maintenance
• Development of good quality software
• Unit testing
• Deployments
• Full accountability of deliverables end-to-end – managing all stakeholders and impacts
• Align to coding and design standards.
• Submit code for Code Quality reviews
• Quality Assurance support
• Feedback on progress to Scrum Master / project manager
• Timesheet capture
• Self-management of capacity and deliverables in alignment with Sprint planning
• Stand-by, Support and Maintenance of systems

Required Experience and Expertise:

• Strong technical/ software engineering background (‘hands-on’)
• Solid experience on Spring Framework, Sprint Boot, JPA, Hibernate, Micronaut Frameworks
• Strong application/software development or programming background in Java
• Good experience in system, application architecture, design, development, implementation and deployment (end-to-end), development automation.
• Ability to work on different tiers of the application
• Object oriented Design
• Solid experience on Spring Framework, Sprint Boot, JPA, Hibernate, Micronaut Frameworks
• Solid experience with SOA-Architectures, Microservices Architectures and related integration protocols (e.g. Web Services (SOAP/XML), REST & JSON, and MQ), as well as the related security requirements/models.

Must have working experience on the following tools/IDEs:

• Experience with artefact repository e.g. Nexus

5 Years + experience in:

• Exposure to agile delivery Scrum, Kanban and or SAFe
• SOA / API
• SOAP and Rest

• Solid experience on Spring Framework, Sprint Boot, JPA, Hibernate, Micronaut Frameworks
• Solid experience with SOA-Architectures, Microservices Architectures and related integration protocols (e.g. Web Services (SOAP/XML), REST & JSON, and MQ), as well as the related security requirements/models.
• Experience with application database management practices in a high volume Java environment (SQL, DB2, and NoSql – Cassandra/MongoDB).
