Job description
Overview

The primary objective of the PaQT DevSecOps Lead is to effectively lead and coach a team of DevSecOps engineers. This role involves fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, providing technical guidance, and ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. The hands-on team lead collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement best practices and is accountable for optimising DevSecOps pipelines for continuous integration and deployment. The role demands close collaboration with developers, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to maintain platform reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Build and manage an effective, skilled team with appropriate succession planning, providing technical leadership
  • Manage performance of employees by clearly defining goals and objectives and providing direction, coaching and regular feedback
  • Actively participate in and contribute to agile practices and ceremonies including the Quarterly Business Review
  • Ensure scalable, secure and stable environments for the platform
  • Liaise with external contracted suppliers (e.g., CompatibL) to implement new solutions required by business and technology users according to an agreed roadmap
  • Ensure ongoing application and infrastructure maintenance, upgrades and renewals are up to date to ensure platform availability and reliability (on prem and cloud)
  • Drive and maintain a favourable security posture for the platform, continuously addressing vulnerabilities
  • Embed principles of quality assurance and define DevSecOps quality frameworks and standards
  • Ensure adequate disaster recovery and high availability for the platform that meets business needs, as well as ensuring successful failover and failback during annual disaster recovery tests (on premises and cloud infrastructure)
  • Ensure optimal usage of cloud infrastructure and drive ongoing cost efficiencies
  • Perform script maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementations
  • Set up and maintain the test environments for both manual and automated testing
  • Participate in sizing, setting up, monitoring and maintaining the infrastructure (hardware and software on for the platform)
  • Develop and optimise CI / CD pipelines to support seamless software delivery and deployment
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements in area of accountability
  • Build effective relationships that allow for the managing of expectations, the sharing of knowledge and diverse insights, the creation of buy-in and aligned delivery focus
  • Initiate stakeholder engagements to track progress, manage expectations and ensure stakeholders\' requirements are delivered
  • Research, enable and consult on improvements and opportunities to harness technology and platform enablement
Qualifications
  • Any relevant qualification
Experience and Skills
  • 7 to 10 years’ experience in a similar environment, of which 1 to 2 years ideally at junior (entry level) management level
  • Proven experience in leading, implementing and supporting Financial Markets systems
  • Strong knowledge of DevSecOps tools and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of IT security principles
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure
  • AZ-104 certification, AZ-305 would be advantageous
  • Experience with version control tools like Git, BitBucket.
  • Experience with provisioning and operating CI / CD tools, either from Azure or using Jenkins / TeamCity
  • Operating systems : Windows Server, RHEL
  • Platforms : AKS, OpenShift would be advantageous
  • Experience with Tomcat, Wildfly
  • PostgreSQL, DB / 2, MS-SQL Server, MongoDB, and working SQL knowledge
  • Working knowledge and experience with Docker
