Job summary

University of Fort Hare in Bloemfontein is seeking an IT Assistant to join its dynamic team. The role supports IT equipment handling, repairs, and storeroom duties, ensuring clean and orderly work spaces.

The ideal candidate will have a National Senior Certificate, basic knowledge of IT tools, and a valid driver's licence with own transport. Some IT environment experience is advantageous and will be considered in selection.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent to NQF4.
• Basic knowledge of ITQ Tools and equipment.
• 1 year of experience in an IT environment advantageous.
• Valid driver’s Licence with own transport.

Responsibilities

• Carrying of tools, equipment and materials.
• Cleaning of equipment and work area on completion of job.
• Assist with job-related duties and collect hardware, part, or equipment from the IT storeroom.
• Conduct departmental inspections on IT equipment and areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness of IT equipment and areas in all departments.
• Cleaning of IT Storeroom fortnightly.
• Conduct monthly stock count.
