About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Irrigation Technician to join their team in the Port Elizabeth area. This role is crucial for maintaining and optimizing the farm's irrigation systems to ensure efficient water use and healthy crop growth. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all irrigation infrastructure across their extensive agricultural lands. This is a hands-on role for an individual passionate about water management and agricultural efficiency in the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair various types of irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, etc.).
• Monitor irrigation system performance and water distribution, making adjustments as needed.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation system malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
• Perform routine inspections of pumps, pipes, valves, and controllers.
• Ensure efficient water usage and compliance with water conservation practices.
• Maintain inventory of irrigation parts and equipment, and assist with procurement.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a related field.
• Knowledge of different irrigation system designs and components.
• Ability to read and interpret irrigation system schematics and blueprints.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools for installation and repair.
