Placements24 is seeking a skilled Irrigation Systems Technician to manage water systems on agricultural properties near Upington in the Northern Cape. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair drip, sprinkler, and pivot irrigation systems to optimize water use.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a related field.
• Strong understanding of irrigation principles, hydraulics, and water management.
• Proficiency using hand and power tools for installation and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, center pivot).
• Troubleshoot irrigation equipment, pumps, and controllers.
• Inspect irrigation infrastructure for performance and issues.
• Manage water flow rates and pressure for crops.
• Assist design and planning of new irrigation installations.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance.
