Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Irrigation Systems Specialist in Upington to design, install, operate, and maintain advanced irrigation systems for arid conditions. You will optimize water delivery, troubleshoot pumps, valves and controllers, and ensure compliance with water management regulations.

• Technical certification or degree in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in installing and maintaining agricultural irrigation systems.
• Strong understanding of water management principles and hydraulics.
• Ability to diagnose and repair pumps, valves, controllers, and piping systems.
• Knowledge of water-saving technologies and sustainable irrigation practices.

About the Role

Our client requires a skilled Irrigation Systems Specialist to manage and maintain efficient water usage for their agricultural operations in Upington . This role focuses on the design, installation, operation, and upkeep of sophisticated irrigation systems to ensure optimal water delivery for crop health and yield. You will leverage your technical expertise to troubleshoot system issues, improve water efficiency, and ensure compliance with water management regulations. This position is vital for sustainable farming in the arid conditions of the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain various types of irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, pivot).
• Monitor water usage and system performance, making adjustments to optimize efficiency and crop needs.

Requirements
