Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Irrigation Systems Technician to manage and maintain landscape irrigation systems across Stellenbosch. You will install, repair, and maintain irrigation networks, including controllers, pipes, and sprinklers, ensuring efficient water use and healthy green spaces.

The role emphasizes understanding water management systems and delivering high-quality service with a commitment to sustainable practices in the Western Cape region.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a related landscaping/horticultural role.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation system components, operation and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and schematics.
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment common for irrigation system installation and repair.

Responsibilities

• Install new irrigation systems according to design specifications.
• Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on existing irrigation networks.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in irrigation controllers, valves, pipes, and sprinklers.
• Adjust watering schedules and systems to optimize water efficiency and plant health.
• Operate and maintain specialized irrigation equipment.
• Provide reports on system performance and recommend upgrades or repairs.
