Job summary

Yazoo Recruitment is seeking an Investment Administrator for a Cape Town based asset management client. The role focuses on cash management, reconciliations and middle office support across fund managers, custodians and administrators.

The successful candidate will hold a finance/economics/administration degree and 3–5 years in financial services, with experience in investment systems and trade settlements. Cape Town-based role with standard office hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry, preferably in the Investment/Asset Management environment.
• Degree essential – B.Com Finance/Economics or B.Admin Degree
• Experience working with banks, custodians, administrators or investment management systems, required
• Understanding of cash management processes and financial controls required
• Specialist knowledge – Trade Cycles, fund manager reporting, fund reconciliation, essential
• Industry knowledge – Instrument trade types, broker relationships, market requirements, required

Responsibilities

• Cash management and reconciliations
• Cash reconciliation – daily cash and bank recons
• Investigate, resolve and upscale reconciliation breaks, cash discrepancies, outstanding items
• Reconciliation reporting, monitor aged items, support audit, regulatory and governance requirements
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities
• Middle Office and Operations administrative support
• Trade settlement management on UT Funds
• Minimisation of missed deals – monitor trade execution, perform accuracy and completeness checks, investigate exceptions and ensure timely resolution breaks
• Capture/review data – Instrument set-ups
• Accurate and in-time processing – trade uploads, various trade types
• Fund Manager Reporting
• Improve and review existing processes
• Account opening and due diligence
• Internal and external queries
• TCF principles
• Internal and external relationship building – fund managers, custodians, administrators, pricing team
