Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or private equity with a focus on M&A.

About the Role

Our client, a prestigious investment bank, is actively seeking a highly motivated and analytical Investment Banker specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to join their thriving team in Centurion, Gauteng . This demanding role requires a deep understanding of financial markets, valuation methodologies, and deal structuring. You will be responsible for originating and executing M&A transactions, providing strategic financial advice to corporate clients, and managing deal processes from inception to completion. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping significant corporate transformations and will work in a high-paced, intellectually stimulating environment in the heart of Gauteng 's business district.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate and execute M&A transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
• Develop complex financial models for valuation, accretion/dilution analysis, and LBOs.
• Prepare detailed pitch books, CIMs (Confidential Information Memoranda), and management presentations.
• Conduct due diligence, transaction structuring, and negotiation support.
• Identify and assess potential acquisition targets and strategic opportunities for clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, private equity firms, and other stakeholders.
• Work closely with senior bankers on deal execution and client advisory.
• Analyze industry trends and market developments to identify potential transaction opportunities.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring seamless transaction execution.
• Mentor and guide junior members of the M&A team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field from a reputable institution.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or private equity, with a strong focus on M&A.
• Proven track record of successfully executing M&A transactions.
• Expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, precedent transactions, comparable companies), and LBO modeling.
• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information effectively.
• Strong negotiation and deal-making abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a demanding environment.
