takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, seeks a Financial Accountant focused on Inventory & Stock Optimisation for its Cape Town Head Office. The role balances deep technical accounting with commercial, AI-driven strategic thinking and partnerships with Retail and Marketplace leadership.

You will own end-to-end inventory accounting, drive automation projects, and ensure accurate stock valuations across 1P and 3P, while delivering robust financial reporting to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field is required.
• Experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting or supply chain finance is expected.
• Strong data analytics and automation capabilities are essential.

Responsabilités

• Own the full financial ownership of inventory across 1P and 3P.
• Maintain accurate stock positions across warehouses and in-transit nodes.
• Manage stock cost incl. landed cost, cost of sales, provisions, and write-downs.
• Lead month-end inventory close with accurate reporting.
• Ensure IFRS IAS 2 compliance for inventory movements.
• Develop and maintain automated WACP calculations and landed cost models.
• Oversee stock system integrations and reconciliations with ERP systems.
