Herschel Girls School follows the IEB NSC qualification and is looking for an innovative and progressive teacher who seeks the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and excellent staff and school.

Grade 7 is a pivotal year in the Prep School, calling for a passionate educator with a strong commitment to academic and pastoral care.

The following criteria are essential:

• Have a relevant teaching qualification from a recognised institution.
• Have a sound and progressive understanding of the current curriculum and international trends in education.
• Demonstrate a future-focused approach to teaching and learning, with strong ICT skills and experience in innovative, integrated and inquiry-based learning approaches.
• Bring creativity and energy to classroom practice, inspiring a love of learning while engaging and challenging girls to think independently, embrace challenges and take intellectual risks.
• Have experience teaching Grades 5, 6 and 7, with a strong understanding of the academic, developmental and pastoral needs of girls in their final year of Prep School.
• Be able to guide and mentor girls through the transition from Prep School to High School, fostering the confidence, resilience and skills needed to thrive.
• Work collaboratively as part of a Grade 7 team, contributing positively to the academic progress, wellbeing and development of the girls, as well as to a supportive team culture.
• Create a classroom environment in which every girl feels known, valued, challenged and supported to reach her full potential.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, integrity, vision and a commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
• Contribute fully to Herschel’s holistic educational programme, promoting an appropriate balance between academic, cultural, sporting and co-curricular pursuits.
