Job summary

Exotic Kitchens in Durban is seeking an Interior Designer Sales Consultant to work full-time on-site. You will meet clients in the showroom and on site, translate requirements into designs, and guide layouts, finishes, and cabinetry solutions.

Qualifications

Role Description The Interior Designer Sales Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Durban. This role involves meeting with clients in the showroom and on site to understand their needs, presenting design concepts, and providing professional guidance on layouts, finishes, and cabinetry solutions. The consultant develops detailed interior designs and space plans, prepares proposals and quotations, and collaborates with the design and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate construction drawings and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing client relationships, coordinating project timelines, and ensuring that designs align with Exotic Kitchens’ quality standards and brand aesthetic. The role also requires regular follow-up from design through installation to support a smooth, customer-focused project experience.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Interior Design and Space Planning skills to create functional, aesthetically aligned layouts and cabinetry solutions.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Architecture and Construction Drawings to translate design concepts into accurate technical documentation for manufacturing and installation.
• Candidates should possess experience with FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) selection to coordinate materials, finishes, and fittings that complement overall design schemes.
• Candidates should possess client-facing sales and consulting skills, including the ability to present designs, prepare proposals, and negotiate project scopes in a professional manner.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., CAD or similar), strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with designers, installers, and suppliers.
• Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines on site.
