Job summary

Santam in South Africa seeks a driven professional to grow new business, retain clients, and manage broker relationships from our Wanderers Office Park office in Johannesburg. You will train brokers, load quotations accurately, prepare renewals, and coordinate marketing and client presentations while navigating underwriting and short-term insurance processes.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record in underwriting/sales, RE5, FAIS compliance, and a solid understanding of insurance

Qualifications

• BCom or Engineering Degree or a construction/engineering-related diploma.
• Non-Negotiable: Must have at least 3 years within underwriting/sales short-term Engineering insurance experience
• Proven record of generating new business growth
• RE5 (Regulatory Examination 5)
• FAIS compliant as representative, not under supervision
• Comprehensive understanding of insurance legislation
• Minimum of 5 years of short-term underwriting/sales insurance experience
• Must have experience with insurance operating systems
• Valid driver’s license

• Team coordination within the marketing department
• Good understanding of the insurance industry market and the terminology used.
• Able to evaluate information from a variety of sources and solve problems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable with phone and face-to-face complex discussions with underwriters, brokers, and any other relevant stakeholders.
• Deadline focused; able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and able to organise own workload effectively to prioritise meeting service standards.
• Operationally efficient; able to follow all process requirements.
