We seek candidates with 3+ years in insurance law, including short-term claims and ombudsman processes. The position offers a hybrid model and a dynamic, technology-enabled environment in Observatory, Cape Town.

Qualifications

• LLB degree and admission as attorney required.
• 3+ years’ relevant experience in insurance law.
• Experience handling short-term insurance claims and ombudsman complaint processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review insurance claims and related documentation.
• Apply external dispute resolution guidelines when evaluating case responses.
• Apply technical dispute-resolution knowledge within the general insurance environment.
• Recommend resolution strategies, including clarifying policy terms and strengthening legal positions.
• Draft clear, accurate responses articulating the client’s position.
• Support post-submission activities, including AFCA follow-up queries and Notices of Response.
• Ensure updates align with complaint-resolution workflows.
• Interpret legal, policy, and business documentation accurately.
• Work under pressure while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
