Job summary

Herotel Telecoms (Pty) Ltd in Gqeberha is seeking an Installer Technical Support Agent to back the Field Technicians with installations, callouts and surveys, ensuring every job meets quality and signal standards.

You will provide daily technical support to Field Technicians, plan installations, perform advanced troubleshooting and assist with quotations for complex installs. The role demands RF and Fibre knowledge, strong planning and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF Level 4).
• 12 years' experience with Mikrotik, Ubiquiti and Cambium.
• Minimum 2 years' Field Technician experience.
• Adequate knowledge of RF protocols.
• Adequate knowledge of Fibre.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good administrative capability.
• Strong time management skills.
• Disciplined and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Medically fit.
• Valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily technical support to Field Technicians and Installers to ensure high-quality workmanship.
• Supply FTTH allocations to Installers and escalate allocation issues.
• Maintain accurate FTTH allocation records in systems.
• Provide Wireless and Fibre installation data and conduct installation planning.
• Perform WiFi planning for applicable installations.
• Approve installations according to signal specifications.
• Evaluate site photos for quality assurance and provide feedback.
• Assist Installers and Technicians with advanced troubleshooting.
• Support advanced setup configurations during installations.
• Advise Sales on quotations for large or complex installations.
• Ensure installations comply with approved SOPs.
• Conduct quality control checks after each installation.

Are you technically sharp, detail-driven and passionate about getting installations right the first time? Join our Networks team as an Installer Technical Support Agent in Gqeberha, where you’ll support Field Technicians with installations, callouts and surveys while ensuring every job meets our quality and signal standards.

The key purpose of this role is to provide daily technical support to Field Technicians and Installers, ensuring high-quality workmanship through careful planning, evaluation and troubleshooting support.

What you'll do:

• Supply FTTH allocations to Installers
• Escalate FTTH allocation issues and follow up until resolved
• Maintain accurate FTTH allocation records in applicable systems
• Provide Wireless and Fibre installation data to Installers and conduct installation planning
• Perform WiFi planning for applicable installations
• Approve installations according to signal specifications
• Evaluate site photos submitted by Technicians for quality assurance and provide feedback
• Assist Installers and Technicians with advanced troubleshooting when issues arise
• Support advanced setup configurations during installations
• Advise Sales on quotations for large or complex installations
• Ensure every installation complies with the approved installation SOP
• Conduct quality control checks after each installation

What you'll need:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4
• Specialised technical certifications (advantageous)
• 1-2 years' experience working with Mikrotik, Ubiquiti and Cambium
• Minimum 2 years' Field Technician experience
• Adequate knowledge of RF protocols
• Adequate knowledge of Fibre
