Placements24 client, based in Pretoria, is seeking an meticulous Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing technical department. The hybrid role focuses on developing innovative electrical designs for building services and industrial projects, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

You will translate project requirements into detailed specifications and blueprints, perform load and fault calculations, and collaborate with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years proven electrical design experience.
• Experience with building services or industrial projects.
• Familiar with SA electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and specifications for power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
• Perform calculations for load, voltage drop, fault current, and circuit protection to ensure system safety and integrity.
• Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials, considering performance, cost, and availability.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
• Conduct site visits for inspections and to gather information necessary for design development.
• Review shop drawings and respond to technical queries from contractors during the construction phase.
