Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Officer in Paarl to oversee data protection and cybersecurity across the organization. You will implement policies, monitor systems, and ensure compliance with POPIA while working with multiple departments to foster a security-aware culture.

The role requires 3–5 years in information security, a relevant bachelor's degree, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Cybersecurity.
• 3–5 years of information security experience.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices.
• Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, GSEC) are an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies and procedures.
• Monitor security systems and networks for threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments and mitigation.
• Manage access control and user authentication systems.
• Ensure compliance with POPIA and data protection regulations.
