Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Information Security Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to information security laws, regulations, and industry standards within a Randburg-based financial institution. You will develop and manage compliance programs, conduct audits, and advise on security best practices to mitigate risks.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of 4 years in information security compliance, strong knowledge of POPIA, GDPR, ISO 27001, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in information security compliance, risk management, or audit.
• In-depth knowledge of privacy laws (POPIA) and international standards (GDPR, ISO 27001).
• Experience in conducting security audits and risk assessments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement information security compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations and update policies accordingly.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during assessments.
• Advise management on security risks and mitigation related to compliance.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on information security compliance.
