Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Information Security Architect to design and implement robust security infrastructure in Bloemfontein, Free State. You will define the overall security strategy, architecture, and roadmap for IT infrastructure, collaborating with IT operations, networks, and development teams.

The role requires 7+ years in information security with 4+ years in security architecture, strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, WAFs, IAM, SSO, MFA, and cloud security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, with at least 4 years in a security architecture role.
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing secure network architectures, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and WAFs.
• Strong knowledge of endpoint security solutions (antivirus, EDR, HIPS).
• Proficiency in identity and access management (IAM) solutions, including SSO and MFA.
• Experience with cloud security architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
• Understanding of cryptography, PKI, and data loss prevention (DLP) technologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of interacting with technical teams and senior management.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA, TOGAF are highly valued.
• Experience in risk assessment and threat modeling.
