Job summary

Printing SA is seeking a skilled field service technician to diagnose, service and repair industrial sewing machines, cutting machines, boilers, fusing presses, irons, and related equipment. You will perform on-site calls at customer premises and verify functionality before delivery.

Responsibilities include accurate time sheets, reporting repair findings, stocking parts when needed, and maintaining a safe, organised work environment while travelling to client sites as required.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing industrial sewing machines or similar equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read technical documentation and time sheets accurately.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites.

• Diagnose, service, and repair industrial sewing machines, cutting machines, boilers, fusing presses, irons, and related equipment.
• Conduct on-site service calls and repairs at customer premises.
• Test all repaired and assembled machines to ensure they meet company quality standards before delivery.
• Assemble new machines, tables, and equipment according to company procedures.
• Accurately complete job time sheets, including:
  • Machine model and serial number
  • Time spent on each repair or service
  • Details of repairs completed
  • Spares used
  • Customer signatures for on-site work
• Communicate repair findings, required spare parts, and estimated repair costs to the Workshop Advisor.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Assist with stock takes and inventory control when required.
• Represent the company professionally during customer visits.
• Technical experience repairing and servicing industrial sewing machines or similar industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and complete technical documentation and time sheets accurately.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver\'s licence (essential, as regular client call-outs are required).
• Willingness to travel to customer sites when needed.
