Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Machinery Technician to join the maintenance team serving the Soweto region. The role focuses on installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a range of industrial equipment to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, with a strong ability to read manuals and schematics and work well both in a team and independently.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Industrial Machinery Technician or similar role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in reading technical manuals and schematics.
• Experience with various types of industrial equipment (e.g., lathes, mills, conveyor systems).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various types of industrial machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems promptly.
• Install and commission new machinery according to technical specifications and safety guidelines.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify root causes of malfunctions.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are accurately documented in the work order system.
