Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Safety Engineer to ensure a safe and healthy working environment at their Queenstown facility. You will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs to minimize hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will conduct risk assessments, deliver training to employees and management, and promote a strong safety culture while advising management on improvements to facilities and equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Safety Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in industrial safety or occupational health.
• In-depth knowledge of OHS regulations and safety management systems (ISO 45001).
• Experience with hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA).
• NEBOSH or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the companys occupational health and safety management system.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Investigate incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to all employees and management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant OHS legislation and industry standards.
• Advise management on safety best practices and necessary improvements to facilities and equipment.
