Alstom in Johannesburg seeks an experienced Industrial Quality Engineer to lead methods and tools for zero external demerits and to deploy digital quality tools across the business. You will work with Process, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to improve quality standards and solve non-conformances.

The role requires 5+ years in quality management, strong communication, and proficiency with ISO9001/IRIS. A degree in engineering and readiness to work in a matrix environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial-level quality processes.
• More than 5 years of experience in Quality Management and Tools Processes.
• Knowledge of quality standards (ISO9001, IRIS, CMMI).
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage Industrial Quality Methods & Tools activities, including people, processes, and performance.
• Develop and deploy processes, tools, and quality standards (e.g., Quality Control Plans, Self-Inspections).
• Drive detection improvements through the implementation of innovative digital tools.
• Deliver Industrial Quality Standard training sessions.
• Manage traceability and configuration activities related to car history books.
• Plan and execute workstation audits and build improvement plans based on lessons learned.
• Ensure compliance with MMD and material testing activities.
• Support APSYS improvement plans for Industrial Quality requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and manage NCRs.
